The Tukutuku project has delivered a sustainable and innovative learning facility for AUT’s Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. This mass timber development features a five-storey structure, large atrium, and modernised adjoining buildings, enhancing learning, collaboration, and campus connectivity. Supporting AUT’s net-zero carbon goals, Tukutuku integrates renewable energy, passive design, and low-carbon materials. Incorporating cultural narratives gifted by Ngāti Paoa, the facility supports student well-being and serves as a place of gathering, learning, and connection.
